About

Data is a seasoned entrepreneur who co-founded three startups before. He has provided consultation to over 15 NGOs, coached more than 20 startups and social enterprises, and trained over 400 entrepreneurs since 2013. With a background in software engineering, Data has worked in various roles, including software development, business development, data analytics and digital marketing across different industries for the past 20 years. Notable companies he has worked with include Stanford University, OpenRice.com, Dealogic, and PwC.

In 2012, after witnessing the failure of a BAM attempt during a mission trip, Data felt compelled to help Christians establish financially sustainable businesses that promote disciple-making. Throughout his journey, Data has relied on God's guidance and support as completed his MBA degree, a BAM course, and a course on marketplace transformation. Over the years, God has equipped Data with extensive knowledge and practical experience in lean startup methodologies, design thinking, and agile practices, enabling him to deliver high-quality training to entrepreneurs.

Prior to starting Overture, Dr Chen has over three decades of exceptional financial and business management experience in high-growth companies across Greater China and the Asia Pacific such as Quasar Medical, Hui Lau Shan, Lee Kum Kee, GE e-commerce, Chanel and San Miguel. He led 2 successful company exits, including an award-winning "Exit of the Year - Mid Cap" in The Asian Private Equity & Venture Capital Awards 2023. Dr. Chen is an Adjunct Professor at Griffith University and The Hang Seng University of Hong Kong.

With a Doctor of Business Administration degree from Curtin University and a Master of Arts degree in Christian Studies from The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Dr. Chen is a Fellow CPA in Hong Kong and Australia, a Fellow Chartered Management Accountant, and Certified Management Consultant. He actively promotes the integration of faith and work, biblical money management, and biblical business management. Serving on boards and advisory panels of Christian ministries, non-profit organizations, and higher education institutions, Dr. Chen's participation in workshops, lectures, and conferences inspires others to excel and make meaningful contributions to society.

Jimmy was a senior executive and general manager for several MNCs for almost 20 years until Jimmy co-founded Net-Makers Limited in IT, web applications and business consulting in 2000. He is a management consultant, an executive coach, and a mentor in faith and work integration. Jimmy is a certified MBTI interpreter, Gallup Strength-Based coach, a trainer to mentors, and a mentor to Christian business owners to integrate faith with their businesses for over twenty years. He also started HK-IMT (Hong Kong Institute for Marketplace Transformation) in 2019, aiming to transform Workers, Work and Workplaces in the Kingdom of God.

In 2023, Data, William and Jimmy co-founded Overture Limited, a Kingdom Venture Studio, to educate, co-found, accelerate, operate and invest in Kingdom Startups.
